Project type
CPTED Assessment
Date
2020
Location
Gledswood, NSW.
Client
Sekisui House
Sekisui House engaged the services of the Design Partnership to conduct a Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) assessment of their proposed new village centre in Gledswood, located in the Camden Council area.
Gledswood Village proposes a high street lined with food and beverage and retail, other supporting retail, a supermarket, a cinema, a swimming pool and gym, commercial and residential units and high-quality public spaces.
The purpose of the CPTED assessment was to consider whether the design of the village centre would promote safety and security, reduce the opportunity for crime, and enhance the livability of the development.
The Design Partnership colaborated with Sekisui House analysing the proposed village centre. Through this process, the team identified possible security risks and made recommendations to improve the safety of future residents and visitors. The CPTED report guided the development team, so that the final design would create a safe and welcoming environment for the community.
